Facilita
Facilita was launched in 1948 and was used for many years as a game fish charter launch at Mount Maunganui ... she was a very successful game boat and it is these launch features that make her a very stable and comfortable craft from which to catch trout on Lake Taupo.
Facilita was brought to Taupo by Eric Hunter in 1979.  She was later owned by Chris Jolly who used her mainly for overnight charters.  She can sleep up to eight people and is equipped with a fridge, freezer, stove etc and is ideally suited to the extended charter service that is becoming more and more popular. She is now owned and operated by Pat Wynn.
Her survey allows her to take up to 22 people and many conference groups and social clubs take advantage of this service for a few hours or a day on the lake.
Facilita is all steel construction, is 42ft 6in long and has a beam of 14ft.  She has recently been refurbished with teak trim.  When Chris bought her he carried out an extensive refit including rewiring, re-instrumentation, a new cockpit and interior trim, and putting in woollen carpets and squabs.  All the work was done locally except for the new propeller.
Facilita can be parked against beaches adjacent to the stream mouths where visitors can enjoy barbecue luncheons and evening meals.
